  • Za'atar is the typical spice mixture from Palestine. Wild thyme grows on the hills of the West Bank near Jenin and Nablus. Mixed with roasted sesame, spiced sumac, olive oil and sea salt, it brings out a unique, aromatic taste.
in combination with fresh bread and olive oil - excellent as a dip and as a spice mixture also gives warm dishes and salads a Mediterranean and oriental touch.
Za'atar is ideal for seasoning vegetable, fish or meat dishes. Za'atar is also wonderfully suited for preparing grilled meat or salty pastries such as flatbread or puff pastry: simply mix the za'atar with olive oil and spread it over the grilled food or pastries. A fine, quickly prepared starter is an oven-fresh baguette, which - cut into slices - is brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with za'atar. Olives and goat cheese should not be missing either.
